Bee Hotel, Abergele
Submitted by PubsCymru on
One of the oldest hostelries in Abergele and situated on the high street. The proprietor back in 1794 was a certain John Davies. At one time was known as the Queen of Hotels in this part of north Wales.
By the 19th century the mail coach had arrived and it was the intention of Davies to undercut all other coach rivals from Holywell to Bangor by providing a chaise and pair at nine pence per mile. It also linked the town with the railway station and Pensarn
The rental value of the Bee Hotel in 1859 was £184.00
