The Sarah Siddons, Brecon

The original name was the Shoulder of Mutton but later changed to the Sarah Siddons after the renowned Shakespearian actress of the 18th century.  She was born in a room above the pub in 1755

The pub sign is a replica detail of Sir Joshua Reynolds’ famous 1784 painting of Sarah.
