Star Inn, Dinas Powys
Submitted by PubsCymru on
One of the oldest buildings in the village and originally built as a Tudor courthouse. The interior comprises of an inglenook fireplace, cross beamed ceiling and spiral stairs.
An earlier extension incorporated the blacksmiths and carpenters shop!
Williams Jenkins the last ‘Mayor’ of Dinas Powys gave a speech outside the pub before enticing everyone in for a drink.
From the Star young men of the village marched off to war in 1914, some sadly never to return.
To celebrate Cardiff City’s historic win over Arsenal in the 1927 FA Cup Final of 1927 the side was entertained at the Star enjoying a sausage and mash supper.
